My Davis ancestors were Watermen from Dartford in Kent the earliest I have so far is John Davis born in 1785. a waterman who was press ganged into the navy and served at Trafalgar. His son James Phillip Davis born 1816 ended up making matches in Bethnal Green and we spent the next 100 years or so in the East End, Morpeth St in particular. Seem to have produced tons of kids but I have yet to find any long lost cousins. Any relatives out there ?? Mick Davis |
