Robert WOOD , my grandfather (born c1890) lived in Birkenhead but had relatives of his mother nee Cowen, in Corrie on the Isle of Aran, Scotland. I think there was an "auntie Maggie" My mother Mary (Cissie), his daughter stayed with them there before 1944 & Jean visited them in 1942. Robert married Elizabeth Hastings in Birkenhead and they had 7 children, Peggy, Mary, Jean, Robert, Thomas, Lily & Edie. I am only in contact with Edie & her 2 daughters so would be pleased to hear from any of the family. Also relations called GARDNER (Alex & David were compiling a family tree in 1972 in USA. His father was John Thomas Wood son John Roswell Wood but I cannot find mother's name or details & no further family history. |
