Trying to find Harrison

My name is June Palmer, I am wanting to know where and when my grandfather was born. His name was STEPHEN HARRISON, he married my Grandmother Mary Louisa Brooks on 2nd.March 1901,he was then a batchelor aged 45 years. He was a Colliery Banks Manager and lived at Station Road, Pilsley Derbyshire. According to the Marriage Certificate, his father, Thomas Harrison was deceased. They had a daughter, Nellie Harrison in June 1901 and at that time lived in Wessington Lane, Wessington. Stephen Harrison died at Town Street, Pinxton. Notts. on the 5th.April 1927. I would like to know what happened in the first 45 years of his life. He had a large leather suitcase with his name on, covered in labels from all over the world also an ivory shoe horn, ebony backed clothes brushes, silver backed hairbrushes and ivory handled hook for buttoning up boots (which suggests he may have been in service somewhere). I have found 3 possibilities in the 1881 census, but I am not certain which or if any are him. If anyone out there has any clues to his birth and family, please contact me. I have now found him on the 1891 Census (Familyhistoryonline) he was at that time lodging with his future mother in law.so this has eliminated two of the possibilities, but I still cant trace his birth.
