I have birth details of Mary E Gerrard :-June qtr 8c 17. She gave birth to Frederick Gerrard 1882 8c 100 Apr-Jun qtr - no father on his birth certificate it is signed X the mark of Jane Gerrard present at birth, don't know if mother or sister. I would like help with finding more information on above Mary and Jane please backwards in date, have forward events. |

Hi Christine, As I understand it, these are the facts: Mary Ellen Gerrard born 1863 (Poss Wigan) Frederick Gerrard born 1882 (Wigan) - no father so presumably illegitimate child of Mary Ellen. Jane Gerrard - trying to find relationship to Mary Ellen. Do you know if Mary Ellen later married? I am presuming Gerrard is her maiden name? I am having difficulty finding them together in 1891, have you got their birthplaces as listed in either 1891 or 1901 so I can compare them with earlier census. Please reply to this thread so that other's who are available to help, can. Thanks! Mags. x |

Mary Ellen Gerrard born june qtr 8c 171863 gave birth to Frederick Gerrard, no father 8c 100 june qtr 1882 Wigan Frederick married Martha Grundy born 17/10/1880 Widnes Henry Grundy born 1844 Martha Garton born 1843 =parents of Martha Grundy Martha Grundy died 29/8/1920 Frederick remarried??? Frederick died 12/1/1945 Martha and Frederick parents to Martha Ann Gerrard b1910 Mary Ellen Gerrard B1906 abt. (married J T G Neal,) died 1951 as Woodward - divorced and remarried |

To Georgina,.... the last Mary Ellen is correct my grandmother. I don't know about the others, her sister was Martha, and their mother was Martha Grundy - Frederick Gerrard Then back to Mary Ellen Gerrard 1863 I don't know any further. |
