As regards Jessie, I have come to the conclusion this has been missed off the GRO index. I've tried CHURCHARD, CHURCHWARD & CHURCHYARD for 1894/1895/1896 and none of the females names even have the same initials, let alone anything anywhere near the right area. Looking at the census imge I think the place of birth is probably Grimsby, so best bet now is to contact the register office that deals with them, and ask them to check. You know the parents names & a narrow range for the date, so shouldn't be too onerous for them. think this would come under Lincoln CC now www.lincolnshire.gov.uk

Hi Linda Can you confirm this is the correct family please... Assuming it is, I have an awful feeling that Jessie's birth registration may not have reached the GRO. I can't see anything in the GRO indexes for 1894/1895 that seems to match anything like her name. As she's quite a young child, her age on the 1901 is likely to be reasonably accurate.

Where do i go from here to find a birth of my gran, have tried all resources i can think of, i have births of all siblings except of my gran, although the family moved around alot i have certs of all, my gran was supposedly born aug 1894 in grimsby lincs, i have tried everything, at my wits end trying to solve this mystery, Elizabeth l c m, born 1889 biggleswade, frederick dob1891 biggleswade, my gran, then gertie blanche, basford notts, rosina may b o trent,alfred derby, henry derby, so where is my grans birth.her name is jessie louisa churchyard, father alfred james, mother sarah louisa maiden name coldham, someone please help solve this mystery.
