Hi Maureen Thanks for the offer. I am looking for the maiden name of Mary who was married to William Snowdon. She was born in 1823 and they had their first child in 1859 so I think they would have been married about 1857-58. William was baptised at Stella Roman Catholic Church, Co Durham but I don't know where Mary was baptised. Lindsey

Hi Mo, Can you give me some general information? I'm not asking for a look-up (yet) but I would like to know if Howdon would be recorded as such or is it part of a 'bigger' area. Anne.

Hello Mayoress! I've been dilligently checking in every day hoping you would be kind enough to offer more lookups!! I'm looking for info on the marriage of the following couple, I found the references on the Joiners Marriage Index on Genuki, I hope they're mine! Anthony Cummin (s) and Mary Ann Alderson, married in 1835 in the parish of Hart. I don't know what might be included in the records but any info about parents or birthplaces would be great. Also, just a general query as you go to the DRO quite a bit.... do you know if they have basdardy records there? Thanks a bunch, Brenda

Hi Maureen, Im afraid i cant supply you with any more imformation,as what i have given you is all i have to go on im afraid. So i think it would be best if i put these searches on the back burner for now untill i can get more info. Thank you for your time and help. If you could suggest how to get more info i would be very grateful, Thomas Snaiths children were all born before 1837 so i cant get certs for them, Any other ideas? Thanks Sue x

Thanks for explaining Mo. Yes, I remember now that you posted that you print everything out to take with you. This is awful -- but my whole life is on hold until I find out Joe's birth place. Didn't realize how quickly this stuff could grab hold of my imagination. Anne Many thanks again to you. If you ever need to know who you are not related to I'm the one to ask!!

Hello again Mayoress I'd be very grateful if you would do another look up for me. I would be interested to know of a birth/christening record of a Thomas Hymer/Hymers/Hindmarsh (sorry spelling varies but I think at the time of his birth Hymers was the most likely) Unfortunately census info also varies but, Hamsterley or Cockfield are the most likely birthplaces (Auckland also possible). Thomas was born around 1830 and his father was called Charles. He had a sister Alice a couple of years older and sister Mary a couple of years younger. If you have time to look for his birth in 1 of those registers it wold be really helpful - at least if you don't find him there I can eliminate those from future searches. Thanks again for your offer. Kate

Hi Susan Duke That is all you get I am afraid.. the details of them being married no fathers names are given on marriages before 1837.. Your next step would be to try and find their baptisms.... to get the parents and sometimes only Father's names are given.. If you can come up with a place of Brith on the 1851 Census for either of them that would be a starting point Mo
