Find Ancestors

Hi, I have a George McWilliams on 1901, 1891, 1881 Census. He was born in 1855c in Gateshead Durham. I can not trace him with or without his parents in 1871/61 Census. Can anyone help me please, I think I am going mad! Cheers Kathy

Hi All Thanks for trying with this one, as I said I have him in later census after he married,which is why I thought posting any of the census might confuse things, what I wanted was to find him with his parents in 1871/61. I have came across the record for a Wiliams that you kindly posted, can anyone give me any idea why they would have missed the Mc of the record when taken the census, if it is them life would be so much easier, how would I know for sure, I would welcome any help or ideas anyone has to offer. Hi again It is looking very like you are all right, I wonder if we could find the marriage of John Mc Williams and Mary A ?. George seems to be the first born in 1854c so the marriage must have been around then. Some census have mary from Newcastle others Gateshead, so it must have been around that area. I am of now to look at the IGI and see if I can find the marriage there. I will let you know how I come on, if anyone can find the marriage please let me know. Cheers Kathy
