hi Louise, I wonder if you could find the actual birth of:- Peter Wallace Tapsfield Rideout, he died in 1963 - 65? and he was aged about 40 - 43 that would make his birth about 1921 - 24. I believe he was born in Southampton, later lived in North Baddesley. He had siblings called Jack/John, Stanley, May, Joan, I do not know of any more. Hope this is enough information. Thank you Margaret.

Hi Helen on page 7, I couldn't complete all your searches immediately as I've had to impose a limit (please see my opening message) but for now: Midsomer Norton falls into the Clutton registration district. I searched all qtrs of 1891-1892 and there were no birth refs for a Frank PAUL for this district. I also searched for Albert in all qtrs 1892-1893 and found just one possible: Jun 1892 - Albert PAUL - Cardiff 11a 414 Take care, Louise

David Report 29 Dec 2005 11:36

Hello I hope you can help me. Im looking for the marriage of my Gt Uncle Henry John Woolner.(often spelt WOOLMER) He would have married between 1925 and 1927 in the Hampstead area of London. I believe that the brides name was Annie, but then i'm not 100 percent about that. The surname Woolner / Woolmer is pretty rare so there wont be too much data to look through. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks, David Woolner

Hi Zoe on page 7, There was only one instance of a John Bernard SMITH death in 1979 (although hundreds of plain John SMITHs as you can imagine!) as follows: Sep 1979 - Kidderminster 29 0413 - John Bernard SMITH - b. 15/12/1907 His birth date is wildly different from the ones you gave so I may have the wrong year of death for him? But anyway, the corresponding birth entry for the John I've given is: Dec 1907 - John Bernard SMITH - Cleobury M. 6a 519 Take care, Louise :O)

Hi Louise, Thanks for the lookup. Thomas Howard is my brick wall so it is a process of elimination as I have little info' on him. Could you please try again for marriage in Staffs. This time in 1848 to Esther Wood or to Mary someone. This may sound odd but I have conflicting info' on certificates. Thanks for your time and patience. Heather in Oz

Penny Report 28 Dec 2005 22:12

Louise thanks for looking. i am begining to wonder if they were married! my grandfather was convinced Annie's maiden name was Pardon/Patton (possibly some variation on the spelling) but when i got his birth certificate it said Annie Stead formerly Kirk. i know she was born either 1879/1880 and she died in newcastle upon tyne between 1968 and 1970. i think i will go to the civic centre and see if they can point me in the right direction!! thanks again Penny

Hi Penny, Not much luck I'm afraid. I found a few marriages for a Fred/Frederick STEAD between 1901 and 1903 inclusive but most were in the wrong area and none matched an Ann/Anne/Annie KIRK. The likeliest was as follows: Jun 1902 - STEAD Fred - Bradford 9b 23 If you want me to check other years, please let me know which. Take care, Louise
