Hi Sally Please could you do a 1951 look up for me? William Prout born abt 1850 Stoke Flemming Devon. I have him, his wife, sons & daughters for 1881 and 1891 (wife Elizabeth Prout nee Chiswell 1856 Ashburton), but cannot be sure if the William Prout I have found in 1861 is the correct one! With the 1851 details I am hoping to figure out who his parents and siblings are to tally with one of the 1861 families! Thankyou Tara ( Claires daughter)

Hi Sally, Thank you for your reply on the 15th. Aug. 05. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but I have had my three grandchildren for the last few days. Bless them. Re the Ball family, in 1871 John Ball was stated to have been born in Staffrith, Shropshire. In 1861 John Ball was stated to have been born in Sheffield. I do not understand this. Do you think it was because the boundrys were moved? Thanking you in anticipation, Margaret.

Thanks for looking Sally, My Alice Jane Davies was born Landshippen, Pembrokeshire abt 1859, her father was John Davies (a carter in 1880). I looked on a map and found Walton West (the birthplace of the Alice Davies you found details of in 61 census) to be on the other side of the county. The birthdates, and father's names match, but the whereabouts of my Alice Jane have remained undiscovered I think. Thanks again, Wendy
