Hereford Record Office- can anyone please do a look up ? Is anyone visiting the Hereford Record Office in the near future? I am trying to trace the mother of my gr grandfather Arthur Preece. Details known: Possibility on 1851 Census Arthur aged 5 years birthParish of Moccas. 1881 Census Arthur aged 34 Born Preston on Wye married to Hannah aged 30 nee Smith Born Tiberton, son William aged 10 living at Madley Hereford. 1891 aged 43 Born Preston on Wye + Hannah + Christopher aged 5 years (my grandfather). Marriage cert 6th June 1868 (father deceased name John Griffiths) wedding at Reg Office Hereford. Address of Arthur 4 St Nicholas Square Hereford. Address for Hannah 2 St Nicholas Square. So many Arthur Preece's births on Free BMD for Hereford but unsure which one is the correct Arthur. Was his birth illegitimate as his father is down as John Griffiths? Did he take his mother's surname? Would really appreciate any help on researching this link. Many thanks Jenny |
