Looking for information on James Harrison married to Sara ?Tock (this could be a nickname) and any of their ancestors. I think they were both born around 1868. There children were as far as I know:- Stanley Harrison b1888 was my grandfather, married to Alice Elvin bFeb 1889 Langworth Derbyshire. They had 1 daughter & 4 sons. I do not know where Stanley was born but his married life was spent in Dodworth then Darton both near Barnsley South Yorkshire, working as a miner. He had at least two other sons Jim (probably James) living in Barnsley and another who could have lived in Derbyshire in his later years and I understand he had connections with Lawrence of Arabia as a map maker. He also had a daughter Gladys (married name Walshaw) living in Dodworth who had five daughters. ----------------------------------- Thanks for all the information I have received about the above I have found it invaluable confirming snippets of information I have obtained from my elderly relatives. Now I am looking for information about his sister who was born after 190l. One of Gladys' daughters was called Maisie born around 1934 who I played with as a girl. As a teenager Maisie worked at a shop in Market Hill Barnsley called Goodworths. They sold home made bread and cakes. One daughter went to live in New Zealand and another lived/lives in Doncaster. -------------------------------------- Doreen |
