I AM TRYING TO FIND MY GREAT GRANDMOTHERS , AMY BENNETT, DEATH INDEX. SHE BURIED HER HUSBAND IN THE PORTSMOUTH AREA IN CIRCA 1938/9. SHE MAY HAVE MOVED TO SUSSEX TO WHERE HER TWO DAUGHTERS WERE LIVING AFTERWARDS . HER WILL WAS FOR 1942 SO SHE MUST HAVE DIED IN THAT THREE YEAR PERIOD. ANY HELP GRATEFULLY RECIEVED.

Hi, well her birth was 1861. Her will is dated 1942 so it cant be 1945. thanks anyway.

Is 1942 the date that the Will was written..or when it was proved?
If the latter, it couldn't be the Amy found.
A will could be written some time before death though.

Hi, unfortunately it doesnt say. All it tells me is that it is a solicitors in Southwick Lewes and how her estate is divided. It doesnt even show the address of the property she resided at of which she left in her will.

Sorry my fingers weren't in touch with my eyes the date was Dec Qtr 1942.

Does that make her the right one?

Hi Steph, well there may be a chance it is her but for her to die and her will to be read and each beneficiary to recieve all in one month, it would be tough going. However, i have no idea how the old system worked. thanks.
