Your best starting point is finding him on the 1881 census for a place of birth, then trying the 1901.

The 1881 can be searched free on the familysearch site.

Good luck.

Hi,
I'm looking for any info re Joseph Brown born 1875 and his father (also Joseph).
Joseph Jnr was a French Polisher at the time of his marriage (1895 in the Catholic Church, Southwark) to Mary Kelly. His father is a Builder's Labourer.
I have no idea of places of birth.
Any help very much appreciated.
Thank you.
