That's brilliant - yes there were a couple of boys named Mark born to William and Ann - including the eldest son (from memory..) so that name is definitely in the Stock family! I really appreciate your quick response - looking forward to hearing from you later! Could you find other children of Mark and Ann and any others for the area around Mangotsfield going back to 1754?

William Stock baptised 07/04/1795 @ Mangotsfield, he was baptised at the age of 10 years. Father Mark Mother Ann(this would match yours)

William Stock baptised 11/03/1804 @ St Augustine Father Thomas Mother Ann

William Stock baptised 25/12/1812 at 3 weeks @ St Paul Father George Mother Mary

William Spry Stock baptised 27/07/1809, corn 04/03/1809 Father William Mother Harriet Bromfield

Marcelle,

It is with great excitement I come across your Look up offer for Bristol baptisms 1754-1812! Would you be able to look for STOCK baptisms in Bristol for that period? (Any and every if possible - or is that too cheeky?)

My STOCKs appear in the Mangotsfield area c.1808 onwards and there are burials too for STOCKs born c.1740-1750s.

My ancestor William Stock married Ann Monks in 1808 and was born in the 1780s I think - he had a brother Thomas Stock (who married Ann's sister), Thomas was born similar sort of time.

Samuel Nichols abode Frenchay buried 29/09/1867 : 61 years.

John Nichols abode Mangotsfield buried 03/10/1855 @ 82 years

Sorry, checked marriages but nothing on discs. John & Susannah are before 1813 so wont be there as disc is 1813 - 1837 for marriages and I cant find Samuel & Maria. If you get any leads come back to me

I had the wrong names. It should have been ..

Samuel Nichols who married Maria Wallace/Wallis

Maria born c 1807 Hambrook parents John Wallis and Sarah Lacey

They changed the spelling of Nichols to Nicholls and back every few years.

I have been chasing this family for years and have twice done the wrong line.

The three children you have ( above ) born to Samuel and Maria are mine and I am sure somewhere the others are connected as a lot of the Nichols/Nicholls were masons.

I appreciate I have wasted your time by getting the names wrong but if you could find the marriage and possibly the birth of Samuel Nichols/Nicholls born c1806.

How sure are you with John & Maria's birth
dates?

I searched Nichols and found John Nichols & Maria Hemmings married 28/10/1816 @ St George.

I will check under Nicholls in the morning
