Trying to trace my husbands family tree. Michael lost contact with his father Manfred Berndt(1940-1998, born in Dortmund Germany), as a child in the 1960's. Manfred's parents were Karl Heinrich Berndt (possibly born in Weimar, Germany)and Elisabeth Horn,we think she was born in Dortmund year unknown. They had 4 children, 2 girls, names unknown and 2 sons, Manfred and Hans. Girls possibly living in Weimar, Germany during mid 1960's and may have had children of their own. Karl listed as missing in action in WW2, possibly in Russia. Karl had at least one brother who possibly moved to Sth America before WW2. Elisabeth possibly in her 30's when Manfred, the youngest was born. Manfred married Inge Guse, around 1961 and my husband is the only child of that union. Manfred married again during the 1980's and had 3 more sons.Would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help us trace family members to add to Michael's tree.
Many thanks
Linda Berndt
