I'm trying to find information on the origins of my great great grandfather, Robert Anderson. He was born in Selkirk, Scotland in approx. 1834-1837. At some stage he emigrated to Australia (Victoria). He then married an Ann Grant (of either Inverness or Broadford, Skye both in Scotland, born approx 1838-1842). They were married at Ballarat on 01Feb1859. I have the details of their children. Robert Anderson died at Scott's Creek Victoria on 06 Mar1894.

I don't have any information of how he got to Australia or his Scottish origins, ancestors etc, or those of his wife. If anyone can help, please let me know.

Robert Anderson born 11/11/1834 in Galashiels, Selkirk

Ann Grant born 1837 in Selkirk

Bit more info for you.

Roberts parents:-

George Anderson b 16/12/1805 Blackadder town, Berwick, Scotland (Father)

Sarah Edmond b 24/03/1806 Selkirk, Scotland (Mother)

George and Sarah marrie 23/07/1830 in Selkirk

George died 03/09/1893 in Buangor, Victoria Aus.
Sarah Died 25/12/1892 same place.

Several children,

Margaret b 29/05/1831 Selkirk. Elizabeth b 16/02/1833 Selkirk, Ann b 18/10/1836 Selkirk, John b 16/12/1838 Selkirk, Alexander 1840 Selkirk, David b 07/07/1842 Selkirk, Mary b 12/08/1845 Selkirk, Walter 02/07/1845 Selkirk, Jean 01/12/1851 Selkirk, Henry Little John b 06/08/1853 Rokewood Victoria, Australia.

So sometime between 01/1852 and 08/1853 they all arrived in Oz.

Georges parents:- James Anderson and Elizabeth Ford.

Sarahs parents:- Robert Edmond and Margaret Renwick.
