I'm trying to trace whereabouts in Ireland my ancestors emmigrated from. Thomas Moore (born 1821), wife Honora and three children (Edmond (b.1843), Michael (b.1845) & Caroline (b.1848) arrived in London between sometime 1849-1851 and are recorded living in at 10 Edwards Place, Marylebone. Unfortunately on census records place of birth is only registered as Ireland. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who could shed further light on Irish immigration into England in general, and details of this family in particular. Many thanks. |

Unfortunately there are no records as it was not immigration as all of Ireland was part of Great Britain then. If all the census records just say 'Ireland' you really are stuck as I am with some of mine. The only slim chance would be the baptism of a child born in England ...if they were RC, sometimes the county in Ireland is recorded. It's tough having Irish ancestors! |
