I need to know any info about Edward Pattison, born 1785 Morton on Swale, especially who he married. I believe it was into the Frank family. He was living with Franks in 1861 but I can't find him anywhere else.

Glenys, thanks for the info. The mystery I still have is that a later member of the Frank family was bequeathed Edward's Battle of Waterloo medal and the newspaper article said Edward was his g-grandfather. I wonder if Rebecca Harland was originally a Frank and had 2 marriages?

More likely that they had children before the 1841 census as they married 1819 don't forget, and then they had a daughter who married a Frank, then had a son, this would be Edwards G grandson, if you look again at the 1861 census you will see that the Franks are all Grand and there are 2 grt grands if you see what I mean.
Have you a copy of the original? I can send it to you if you send me a PM message with you mail addie.

Thanks again, I'll have another think about it tomorrow and see if I can find the direct link. The Battle of Waterloo was 1815 so I suppose his medal could have come through his female child Patterson who married a Frank as you suggested. Let me know if you come across anything.

Diane
I have just looked again at the 1851 census and next to Edwards name it says
Lodging House/old soldier/labourer/no pension
so it's defo' him
Glen.

The only other thing I can come up with is that one of his sons daughters married a Frank, she would have been a grandaughter and her sons Edwards Grt grandsons would have also been Franks, the one who got the medal

Cheers, I'll have another look at my Franks tree and see if I can find the link. You've been a great help.

Just another thought, while you're doing so well, can you locate him in the 1841? If we had an idea of any children that would help.
