To confirm Mary's death, search here:

for a death of Mary Vass in 1882. There is a death of a Mary Vass aged 34 in Toxteth Park that would seem to be your Mary.

If you search for the birth of Florence Vass, you will see that it was registered in the same district in the previous quarter of that year.

Maybe this is the information your post is based on!

In the 1901 census, Florence is called Flora, and she is a "shop assistant (boot dept)". She must have found her vocation a little later. ;)

The info about the birth and death don't tell you much, but in case you wanted to confirm it, those records should do it.

I'm trying to find some information about Florence Vass born 1882. She was born in Liverpool, her parents were Robert Vass and Mary Vass nee Bullen. However i believe Florence' mother Mary died giving birth to Florence or as a result of giving birth. Florence lived with her mothers sister and their family, (Maria Arthur nee Bullen and John Arthur) despite her older brothers and sisters living at home with their father. Florence later went on to become a nurse. I don't know when or where she nursed but she died in 1956. Any information about Florence is of interest.
