I'm trying to find the birth of John Elias Jones. According to my mother-in-law he was born in Holywell in 1873 and was brought to Liverpool at about 3 months old. I can find him in the 1891 and 1901 censuses and have his marriage and death certs, but I can't find him in the 1881 census. I've also had no luck getting his birth cert. His father's name was John and he was a Collier. When John Elias married in 1897 his father was shown as deceased. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack! |
