John Report 9 Jan 2008 19:38

This is a repeat of what I had on this page earlier as I somehow deleted what was already added by myself and others.

Am searching for the parents and birthplace of Catherine A Jones bn 1803, possibly in Middlesex UK.
She worked at a public house called the Golden Harp Public House in Phoenix St Spitalfields during 1820/1821 and was tried for stealing from those premises on 24/10/1821. She was 18 yrs old when sentenced. All that is recorded is that she had an aunt living at the time in Vine-Court, Spitalfields.
She was transported to NSW on the ship "Lord Sidmouth" leaving Woolich on 11/9/1822 arriving Sydney 27/2/1823. (Not the Minerva as prev stated, that was another convict relative!.)
Married John Leary, also a convict in Sydney. Died in 1858 at orange NSW.
NSW BD&M (marriage and death) transcripts DO NOT not show her parents or place of birth.
NSW State Records only show her as arriving on the Lord Sidmouth and whom consigned to with no parents listed.
All avenues of enquiry I am aware of in NSW have been exhausted.
The answer I believe, now lies within Middlesex UK and do not have access to those sites which require subscription or fees to view info.
Would appreciate any info on her or suggested sites to enquire.
Apologies to those persons who replied to my earlier "trying to find" that I somehow deleted in the process of editing.
Regards
John Leary.
