Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me trace information on Albert Mitchell who was born in Taunton in or around 1848. I have traced him to the Workhouse in Weymouth, Dorset but cannot find out why or how he got there. He married a Tabitha Groves who originally came from Symondsbury in Dorset.

It could well be that Albert's parents both died, as in 1861 he is in the work house with his brother John and sisters Alice and Emma. This looks like him in 1851

I haven't yet found a mary Ann Mitchell on the 1861 Census, but I did find this mary Hayes born in Draford, Somerset ... although the age is a little out.

Could she have put the older children in the Workhouse, placed one with her parents, and then gone back to her maiden name to get a job after John died????

Hi Sylvia, No Sarah never came back, unfortunately my Dad died just as I was getting into the searching and things have been rather muddled and I've not managed to enjoy searching as much, but now I'm off again catching up with all my old tasks.
