The only other London Bens are 1 in Hackney and one in Islington. The Islington one has Arthur as a second name and is north London and there is one in Hackney, which is where he married and which fits the age better.

I see he gave no second name on his marriage to Margaret.

Difficult - the Edmonton one fits with the address you have given in N16 - you could take a chance on buying the one you feel most likely from GRO for £7 and asking them to check the father is Charles James Clark, Sawyer. But then again, Hackney has that second name that fits????

on my husbands birth certificate is says his father is Benjamin Thomas Clark but my husbands sister says on her b cert is says Benjamin Arther !!

Are you sure of that birth year for Ben?

These are all the Ben Clarks born around that time. I would have thought if they were living in North London, Edmonton would be the likely one but its not the year you give. How do you know its 1907?

If they were born after 1901 then we wont be able to find them in any census. You will probably be able to find a birth certificate for the mothers full name, dads name and occupation and the residence the child was born. Where in London is Barbauld Road? Ive googled and N16 is coming up - is that the right one? If you could give us all the details you know it would really help us help you.

Nell is normally a nickname for an Ellen and very obviously Charles are called Charlie or Chas.. But as Sam says no one can help you unless you give us more solid information to work on.
