1815 born at sea labourer 1871 census i'm having great difficulty with this one. i could do with a lot of help on him. his son on my side was called edward details below

Edward's birth cert will give his mother's married name, then you could look for Jame's marriage. The cert might give his age.

All I have found so far is (I think) Edward's brother James in 1881 - living in same street as family were in 1871; same wife's name, although he is now John James:
