	Hi there, This may seem like a really silly question, but now that I have got this far back in the Wood side how do I go further? Is it literally through birth and marriage certificates or is there any other way to find parents and siblings etc? Thanks Claire

	You can't get birth certificates (or marriage/death ones for that matter) before 1837 when civil registration began. You now have to check parish records, some are on the IGI at www.familysearch.org but failing that, it's time to start visting or contacting Records Offices! Sam x

Member Since: July 2006 Posts: 7 Send Message	Hi Claire, my husband is a wood and all we know is that his grandad was called Edward Horace Wood and he married Mary Ellis and they had 3 children. don't know if they are related but anything would be grateful. kind regards Maria
