I do have the Birth Cert and the parents are Frerick & Harriett. But on the Marriage cert it say father deseased and has Thomas Henry Roberts Occupation Smith but frederick was a smith also? and Walters brother name was Thomas Henry Roberts? and Harriett Strong as witness was Harrietts daughter who married a Walter Evans Strong in 1881tthey were methodist and some suggested that the brother signed that he Walter was of age to marry.

By 1851 Susan and Amelia would have been long gone and married, most likely.

If you have the birth cert, with both parents' names, can you find the marriage at

? You can search there by both parties' names, even though the GRO did not match them up at that time.

Hi Heather First I can not thank you enough for the information it is such a great help. Well where do I start I know that they lived in Halkin cottage in 1841 in chelsea. and that there were other Children Amelia & Susan but they are not on the 1851?
I had been trying to trace a Walter Samuel Roberts B: 27th June1864 who is My great Grandfather this is confirmed by family & birth certs. I had been told that his fathers name was Frederick but on Walters marriage cert it said Thomas Henry father deseased this threw a spanner in the works but I can only trace Walter to Frederick & Harriett Roberts. Walter was born in Halkin Cottage Edbury Road Chelsea. I have all the info on Frederick & Harriett and his brothers name was Thomas so I think he signed the register. Where is he living in the 1851 with his mum and siblings? This them for ref? Henry is a carpenter and the other two bros are smiths.
It doesnt actually say any of them were born St George Hanover square, only that they are living in that district. Their place of birth are all given as Middlesex, nothing else. Have you got him in later census?

I am trying to find Thomas Henry Roberts born in St Georges Hanover square I believe in Halkin Cottage in 1834/5
He appeard on the 1851 cencus as living with his mother Jane Roberts wife of George roberts Deseased. and Brothers and sisters Emma 26, can't read Name of next Brother 24 and Frederick 18.
Can not find on 1861 census any help?
