There's no Elizabeth Croxford to match your specs, for example. The closest one in time is this:

Births Dec 1888
CROXFORD Elizabeth Ellen Paddington 1a 60

but that's nowhere near in space.

The question would be: where did your information come from? If long memory, it could have failed, or been way off in the first place. Are you going at this backwards, with pre-set ideas that may be all wrong?

From 1880 to 1895, there's just no Elizabeth Croxford birth in Cheshire.

Now, there are mistranscriptions in the FreeBMD database, to be sure. But if you can't find anything you're looking for, it's more likely you're looking for the wrong thing!

I'm trying Elizabeth Cr*ford, to ward off mistranscriptions, and expecting a long list of Crawfords ...

So meanwhile, trying for their marriage ... and that was easy:

Marriages Sep 1908
>> CROXFORD Elizabeth Warrington 8c 324
DAINTITH William Warrington 8c 324
>> MARTIN Joseph Edward Warrington 8c 324
PORTER Emma Baines Warrington 8c 324

Or did you have that? You're talking about searching at FreeBMD?

http://www.freebmd.org.uk

Well, FreeBMD won't do my open-ended Cr*ford search, it would have to be done for narrower time periods at a time. You could try that.

But the marriage certificate, for that couple, should give you their ages and their father's names, so you could start there!

There are a few Elizabeth Croxfords in the 1891 census of around that age, but none in that area.

I'll let someone else take a kick at the other side of the family -- it looks even more exciting. ;)

You're not getting anything for 1946 if you're using the search engine because there's nothing in the database -- that period has not been transcribed into it yet. For that you have to search the images by hand, as it were.

Well, maybe you did that. I just tried it, and there's no Martin + Mason marriage in first quarter 1946. Were those the names?

Anyhow, order up that one marriage certificate and make a start!
