This could be Eleanor's birth registration. found on the IGI on www.familysearch.org/

(Dublin, Dublin signifies that she was born in Dublin City and it's an extract from the Civil Birth Registrations, so you can order a copy from the Souther Ireland Record Office if you wish..)

Hello June,

I've done a little digging.

The 1881 census shows the family. Patrick (father) Maria B. and Eleanor were all born in Ireland. Christina and Patrick (junior) were born on the Isle of Man. They must have moved there between 1864 and 1867 and then sometime after moved to Cheetham, Manchester.

I had a look on www.familysearch.org for their marriage. The only possibility I could find is:-
17th feb 1862 Roman Catholic, Ballinameen, Roscommon. Patrick Duffy married a MARIAM BEIRNE. This ties in with the birth of their first child. What do you think?

How can i find what part of Ireland my G-G-G-Grand Father come
from..he's name being Patrick Duffy born in Ireland abt 1825.
Married a Maria B! had Children Patrick..1868.
Eleanor..1864...Christina..1867.
Dont know if any of these where born in Ireland.
All i know of my G-G-G-Grand father he was a Customs Officer
in1881. Many thanks to one & all..June.
