Hi All

Thanks for information, However what I was really looking for was if anyone has these names in their family trees. I have researched FreeBmd and have got the required birth and marriage details of the above relatives. What I am looking for is if anyone who has Sarah White nee ( EVANS) in their tree.

Anne - it's definitely best to get marriage cert if you're sure enough it's the correct one. Do try freebmd if you haven't already - there are several Sarah Evans born in Shropshire around 1870, so a second name would really help.

PS I have a susanna evans born 1845 in Shropshire - well, you never know!

Firstly do you know the 1881 census is free on ancestry.co.uk and on familysearch.org - Im going to bed now, but you could have a look for them on that one. Also freebmd gives births, deaths and marriage refs. You need to find their marriage ref on there and buy the certificate from GRO online for £7 which will give both fathers names and occupations and witnesses names - all clues to finding the previous generation.

Good night and happy hunting!
