Trying to find a birth record of my grandfather, Albert Arthur Clark born 1883 in Hackney, London. He married a Jessie Day and they had 6 children. He died in 1962 in Ilford, Essex. Have found baptism records for his siblings but not his. Any suggestions please?

People didn't have to be baptized in 1883, but their births had to be registered!

There's no Albert (Arthur) Clark registered 1882-1884 in Hackney, but there is:

Births Jun 1883
CLARK Albert Arthur Islington 1b 357

You need to do the search there yourself to confirm that the info has been transcribed correctly (click on the spectacles beside that result), and then the birth cert you can order at

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

will confirm that the parents were the ones you're looking for.
