Ronald was their only child as far as I know, family knowledge states that there was only Ron and that they married quite a few years before Ron was born. However, have searched for the marriage up to 1931 when Ronald was born, but couldn't find it there either, yet they were definitely married.

Maiden name was definitely French, birth certificate states "Joy Annie Wood, formerly French".

Ronald was their first born, was he?

they could have married later - like right up until his birth - which free bmd wont cover

her maiden name was deffo French, was it?

They had a child Ronald George Wood, born 31st May 1931 at 81 Granleigh Road, Leytonstone, Essex, England.

Have purchased Ron's birth certificate to get mother's name as couldn't find his father's marriage without it and hasn't appeared to help greatly!

Thanks,
Claire

have you tried looking on free BMD?

I cannot actually see her birth, how old would she have been and where was she born

Hi all,

Am struggling to find a marriage record for a George Henry Wood and Joy Annie French. Trouble is I'm not entirely sure of the year involved, think it must be somewhere between 1910 and 1920 probably in the area of Leytonstone, Essex, England.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Claire
