Hi, I'm trying to find any info on Mary Bridget Carmody, Born in Roscrea, Ireland her date of birth was 28/08/1937. She had 3 children. The first child, my father, she named Paul Carmody Born in Burnley on 8/10/1958.
The second child, she named Kathleen Carmody, born in Nelson, 30/11/1959. Both my father and Kathleen were adopted.
Mary went on to have another child who she also named Kathleen Carmody. The second Kathleen was born in Ireland, not sure on dates but i can find out.
Mary left Kathleen in Ireland with relatives and was living in Blackpool with a man named Joseph Turner.
Mary and Joseph died on 12/07/1963, Mary was 27 and Joseph was 33. From this i think I have found that Josephs birthday was 12/11/1929 and was born in 83 Burnley Road, Briercliffe, Burnley.

If I have the right Joseph, his mother was Hannah Hollins who married Charles Turner in 1919 (I think). Charles Turner was a cotton weaver, And if i have the right Hannah Hollins she also had a son named James Turner born in 1920 jun qtr in Burnley.

All the names and dates etc seem to add up so i think i'm on the right track!

The problem I have is that my dad, now Paul Carmody and his sisters don't know who their dads are and what happened back then and why 2 were adopted. There could be 3 fathers and Joseph Turner could be one of them.
We also think there may be another sibling, but just don't know.

Please if anyone can help i would be so greatful. Even if someone could tell me which direction to take next would be great cos i haven't a clue where to go now.

Ive seen all your posts and looks like your in a similar situation to me. i think we may have spoken before but i have some more updated info.
My mother was placed in a orphanage in tralee at the age of two in 1956 by her parents MARY BRIDGET CARMODY and John Coffey who were married and living in kenmare kerry at the time and I have since found a birth of a sister Norah Mary Coffey who was born in 1957. Cant seem to find any further info as i have my grandparents marriage cert (married 25/09/52) and their ages just show full which at the time depending on the area could mean 16, 18 or 21. Their marriage Cert shows their fathers names as Denis Carmody and Daniel Coffey and that Mary and her father were Itinerents. Maybe you could find out if your mary's father was called Denis?

Dont know if it'll lead anywhere but would be nice to find out?
