I'm trying to trace my dad's family - William and Lillian Turner both born c1880. I have found some of my grandmothers family but the Turner side is proving more difficult. From my grandparents marriage certificate I have determined that my great grandfather was named George Turner, but I know nothing else. Can anyone help? I don't live in the Deptford area, so searching local records at this point in time is not an option.
Other information I have is that my dad had a brother - I don't know his name and have been unable so far to find any records that may indicate who he is.
I have managed to discover that dad had a sister called Ellen born in 1912 thanks to the fact that my grandmothers maiden name is not a common one (BEARCHELL).
If anyone thinks the may be related or may know something about the family, or any member of the family, I would be very grateful for any information.

Hi Julie,
I'm don't know what Georges occupation was. George was listed as deceased on my grandparents marriage certificate in 1905. I only discovered that his name was George because of the marriage certificate. I have very few clues. Thank you for your interest.

Hi, I am tracing my family in Engalnd and my Grandfather's name was George Turner, he married Harriet Barry. They had a son John born in 1881. This George was suppose to be a Bricklayer. I know nothing of these decendants as my reseach keeps coming up blanks. So I don't know if it may link to your Turners?

Hello Barbara,
Sounds like you're in the same situation as I am. I will try and contact you via the messaging service and allow you access to my tree. With a bit of luck this may give us both some clues.

Hello Eric,
I do have a copy of the marriage certificate you have referenced. These are my grandparents. I also have copies of both my dad's birth certificate and my dad's sister Ellen's birth certificate.
I haven't been able to determine anything about my great-grandfather (George) or who my great-grandmother may be. Thank you for your help.

You haven't answered the questions pertaining to William's info on the marriage cert.............

Bear in mind that a 'deceased' father on a marriage cert was sometimes a cover for illegitimacy..........
