FAMILY TREE - TURNER

I have quite sccessfully researched my family, with the exception of two Gt. Aunts (sisters) who went to Singapore and Penang. Of all the others, I have been able to go back, finding all births, marriages and deaths, for each generation of the family, to my 6 x Gt. Grandfather, Daniel Turner of Eye, Northants, in 1751, where I have hit a brick wall. He first appearred on this date with his marriage, but a year later he died and I have a copy of his will. In it ,appart from his bequests to his new wife and year old son, he also mentioned a daughter Tomazin Turner, who came as quite a surprise to me. I looked for her on the IGI, and found that she married in St. John's Baptist in Peterborough in 1739. So, Daniel had,had a previous marriage.
But, I cannot find a birth for him or Tomazin, to establish there ages and places of birth. I applied to the Northants Archivist for the usual information, but sadly the records for Eye, have not stood the test of time, and they could not help me. I have now applied to Rutland and Lincolnshire records, just in case he came from either of these two adjoining counties, as I am not convinced entirely that he was originally from Eye. I have seen several entries on the IGI, for Turners, and in particular Daniel Turner, over in Lincolnshire, but cannot exactly make a link to mine.
I suppose I am really letting off steam in my frustration, but I would be more than happy to receive any suggestions as to where I can 'go' next.
Many,many thanks for indulging me

Hi Julia,
Although he is registered as Eye this area covered the districts of Thorney, Whittlesey, Peterborough, Paston and Newborough, I also had a problem like this and found that my ancester's birthplace was close to the county boarder and in his time of birth it was in a different county, Eye boarders with Cambridge so it might be worth giving it a go.
There is also a Peterborough FH site that may be able to help you.
Good luck.

Hello Joan, many thanks for your reply. I hear what you are saying, and seem to permanently have my atlas out when doing searches. I found Daniel's 1750 marriage on the IGI, in Paston, but, it is any previous marriage(s), that I cannot find. Also, Tomazin was married in Peterborough, so they must have lived in the area even if they were not born there. I will have to go back to the drawing board with this one I think. Perhaps Peterborough Records might have more than Northants does
Again many thanks
