I am trying to find the family of my grandfather Ernest Edward Turner unfortunately I do not know where he was born or his actual date of birth what I do know is that he married my grandmother Kathleen Muriel Hadlow in June 1924 and their marriage was registered at Strood/Hoo Kent. They had only one daughter my mother Joan Kathleen born in 1925. If anyone has anymore info I would appreciate it. |

His marriage cert will give his age and his dads name ,hopefully!, so you can then go back on his family |

Other than getting his marriage cert (as Shirley suggested) or a good trawl through Cityark,I wonder if any of the names below ring a bell?? |

Thank you for all the replies, my grandfather died in the early 1970's and he is buried in Northfleet so I am afraid that that rules out some of the replies, I have his marriage to my grandmother in 1924 registered at Strood & Hoo 2a 1638 which matches Cassie's reply, as far as I am aware he only had two christian names and Ernest Edward are the only names that appear on my parents marriage certificate when he died he was I believe 70 therefore I do not believe that he was born before 1900. I think that I will have to obtain the marriage certificate, thanks very much for all your help. |

No that cant be right Rose my mother died in 1973 and my grandfather died before her, I think my children were 3 or 4 so it would have been 1969 or 1970. |

Thanks Rose, I think I need to be looking at a death in 1969 or 1970, he was living in Northfleet Kent at the time of death so I imagine this would have been registered in Gravesend. |

That looks interesting Maureen, that does fit my grandfathers age and that is exactly the quarter he would have died because I remember we were on holiday at Pontins in Camber Sands when he died and it was in September and the children would have been 4 years old, I will have to check that out, thanks very much. |
