My g-g-g-grandfather John Turner was born Ovingham,Northumberland c1759 His family came from Westmorland and had estates in the county.They backed the losing Stuart side during the jacobite rebellion and the land was confiscated. They then moved to Northumberland and became colliery owners.Can anyone shed any light on the Westmorland locations ?
