I AM TRYING TO FIND A HALF SISTER, SHE WAS CALLED GILLIAN TURNER AND HER MUM WAS CALLED NELLIE HAUKES SHE WAS BORN WATFORD 1938

It looks like Hawkes not Haukes

Date of Registration: Jan Feb Mar 1938 Registration district: Watford Registration county: Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Middlesex Volume Number: 3a Page Number: 1656

Have you looked for common ancestors on this site? Have you also got her birth certificate for exact date of birth. It is too common a name to reliably pinpoint a marriage

Using SEARCH at the top of the page, there is one entry by Amanda for a Gillian Turner 1938 born St. Albans ?

I do not have her birth certificate,I think she was adopted but she did find part of the family but it was before my contact with them.

I have found the address of four Nellie Hawkes in England

It is possible that Gillian was born late 1937 rather than early 1938
but the only way to be sure is to purchase her birth certificate.
PLUS this will say if she was indeed adopted.

I can not pinpoint a Nellie Hawkes marriage to a Turner at the moment.

PS is Gillian your half-sister via your dad ?

If you PM your father's first name/s I will try to pinpoint Nellie's marriage to your father cos with the approx DOB you have for Nellie, odds are she was married before.

Is it possible Nellie kept Gillian, so find Nellie we find Gillian ?
