hi, i am trying to find out information about my nan's first husband, JAMES ARTHUR TURNER. He was born in 1919 and from the Wigan/Ince/Lancashire area. His father was WILLIAM HENRY TURNER who was a stoker. I think his mother's maiden name was ANDERTON. JAMES married my nan ETHEL MAYERS on 8/10/41 at the church of St. John the Evangelist, Hindley Green, Lancaster. DOROTHY OLWYN TURNER was a witness. I think he may have been a miner before joining the army. He was killed on 18/1/44 and is buried at the Sai Wan war cemetery in Hong Kong. Any information on him would be most welcome, thanks, vicki |
