I am trying to find more information about John Turner, born about 1812 in Barking, Essex and married to Mary. I know from the 1841 census that John was a fisherman. Later the family moved across the river to Woolwich in Kent and John became a Thames lighterman. John had (at the 1861 census) 6 children -Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Louisa, William (my great-grandfather) and Emily. William married Emily Everett in 1884 and I know that Alice's married name was Booth (possibly married to a James Booth). I would be particularly interested in any details of John's marriage (including Mary's maiden name) and his parentage. Regards Bob Taylor |
