Hello all you Turner seekers! I am trying to trace my mothers family her name was Sadie Annette Turner and was born 1890.I believeshe had four brothers, one was definitely Wiliam [Will] one was Arthur, another Reginald and I think there was another that was killed but am not sure. One went to Canada and according to my mother became the Mayor of Ontario, one was in an asylum due to shell shock in the 1924/18 war and remained in the asylum [to the best of my knowledge] until he died.My mother used to visit him there when I was about 12 years old.I can't remember where it was,and I was never allowed in as I was too young. My Uncle Will was married to a Louise and they had a son Reginald who I am pretty sure was the manager of a Westminster Bank. I think cousin Reg had a partner or sister by the name of Peg of Phyllis and I did meet these four people when I was about 12/13.My Uncle Will and Aunt Louise lived at Gidea Park,Romford at that time.My grandfather who I think was named William was a 'ships' doctor and my grandmother I think was named Elizabeth and she came from County Waterford,Ireland.I have no idea what her maiden name was. and am uncertain of both grandparents christian names. My mother was disowned by the family when she ran off with my father. She and my Uncle Will were reunited 19 years after her leaving her husband [not my father] when they met accidentally in Lombard Street,City of London. My mother died in 1970 aged 80.I am now 72 and would like my 8 children to have some knowledge of their history. If anyone out there can help I would be most grateful. Many thanks,Pam. |
