Gill Hayward, Hi, I'm trying to find out more about JANE WALKER b. c1870. Jane is my great grandmother. Her maiden name was ROWNTREE, and it's believed that she was a member of the Rowntree Sweets family. She married for love, ? Walker, who her family felt was beneath her. Because of this marriage she was disinherited from her own family. I am desparately trying to find the first name of her husband and the date of marriage. They had 8 children (that I know of), these were: Hannah, Robert (Bob), Willie, Lily (my grandmother b. 1896), Dora, Rachel,Jennie and Vera. These are in no particular order as I don't their dates of birth.About 1920 Hannah, Rachel and Jennie emigrated to New Zealand (I'd really like to hear what happened to them if anyone knows). ANY info on this side of my family would be greatly appreciated. |
