Hello there I am trying to find anything about my Grandmother Jane Walker Trotter I have details of her life in Worthing but nothing of her family or life whilst she lived in Scotland. She was born in 1899 to Margaret (Maggie) Swanston Walker (Nee Turnbull) Her father was Alexander Trotter. Her grandparents would have been Robert and Margaret Turnbull, they lived in Cavers , Roxburgh. She was placed in an orphanage in Edinburgh as her mother was not married to her father so I don't know if any of the Turnbulls were aware of her birth? I can't find any details of her in the 1901 census although I have her birth certificate, which is dated 5th July 1899. Maggie (her mother) died in 1901 in Edinburgh whilst living with her sister-in-law Helen Turnbull and son James Mercer Walker. I didn't get to know my grandmother as she died in 1966 (the year I was born) I have only heard the stories of what a lovely kind lady she was and would like to complete her life story if possible.
