...specifically in the Winnipeg area. Would have emigrated from the East Anglia area around the turn of the century...

Do you have any other information. I checked the census and there are a lot of Ward's in Manitoba.

Not at this stage. The only source of verifiable family info at the moment is my mother in law, whose recall is sketchy to say the least. She does, however, have an address on a piece of paper somewhere in her bureau and when I see her next I'll ask her if she can locate it.

My wife and her family moved away from the Braintree area in 1967 after her dad died, and the only link to the Ward side was her gran who died in 1976. So atthe moment it's pretty hit and miss!
