Please can you help?

I am searching for the descendants of a Thomas & Catherine Ward (brother & sister) who were born in Shaw, Oldham Lancs in 1896 & 1898. Their father was called Thomas, but mother at present is unknown.

They were living with their father Thomas & his mother Ann & family on the 1901 census at 32 Christine St, Crompton, Oldham. Ther is no sign of a mother ?died.

Any info gratefully received

This is brilliant.

Thanks for those who have done look ups.

I am wondering if mum & child Robert died at the same time.

Thomas snr was my gr grandmothers brother but we have no further details about the family.

Thanks again

OOh that has just given me goosebumps!

The baby died after the mother by a few months, How sad for the family.

They both missed the 1901 census.

It always amazes me what can happen in 10 years as in this case a marriage, 3 children and 2 deaths.

Thanks again for the help.

My aim now is to see if I can find the livin childrens marriages and maybe trace a living relative.

Thanks Crystal,

Havent had time myself to chase up any marriages for Thomas & Catherine.

Catherine is not showing up with any for the Oldham area and there are quite a few for Thomas on freebmd. There father may also have re married.

Sometimes, dont you just want the next census to take you further on?

On lancashirebmd a Catherine W. Ward married James E. Hall in Oldham, 1920. I don't think it's a record I could access at the local interest centre though to find out her father's name.

There is a Catherine W Ward born in St Helens in 1899 so the above marriage may not be for your Catherine.

When the next census comes out I think the internet will be absolutely jammed! So many people waiting for it!
