Find Ancestors

Hi, i have posted a similar thread on here several months ago, but i have decided to have another go as i just cannot seem to find this person. I am trying to find out any details about Leonard Ward (birth, death, census records etc..). I have a marriage certificate and the details i have from it are as follows;
Married to Lilian Stevens on 30 Dec 1915 age 22 years, he was a wood cutter and the place of residence at time of marriage was Wokingham Durham. Fathers name Charles Ward who was a collier. The marriage took place in Rendcombe Gloucestershire. He had a son Ronald in 1918 registered at Ashbourne Derby. I just cannot seem to find him on any records, i no longer have access to the 1911 census, but i did search it a while ago.
Any help/details you could find out about him would be great. Thanks.

Bearing in mind that Leonard's son was registered in the Ashbourne, Derby registration district - could this be Leonard in 1911??

This Charles Ward may be linked, given that his birthplace is the same as that on the address of the census posted previously.

However, if the age is correct for this Charles then he would have only been 15 when Leonard was born.

That's cool - at least that rules out this Leonard from the 1911 results!!

Also consider the fact that he may have been born out of wedlock, if his mother then married he may have taken on the stepfathers surname on census? OR, he may have just made Charles up to save face at the marriage?

This date for him is s little out ,I have him bn 1893 if he was 22 in 1915,for marriage.

Tree on Ancestry has the one born Sept 1893 Rotherham,his parents were Solomon Ward and Marion Youle.



I found a Charles E Ward born Darfield Bridge Yorkshire (Barnsley area)
1901 he is in Wombwell a Coal Hewer.

Wonder if they had Leonard who maybe was away on the night.
He is the only Charles ward I have found who was in the mining industry.

Sara as other members of a ward family in Kirk Ireton around the 1830's so maybe the connection lies there .
