hello my father was adopted as a baby in 1939. His birth name was alan ward and he was born in paddington hospital london in June of that year. His birth mother was named ida georgina ward who was born 27th July 1897 at Droop Street in London which was also the address given on my father's birth certificate. i also have found her at the same address on the 1901 census as a young child with my great grandparents George Ward and Mary J Ward (nee Lockley) and Ida's younger brother George A Ward. Ida Ward married herbert g Bye in December 1940 and they had a son Frederick G Bye whose birth was registered in the first 1/4 of 1942 in Willesden London. They lived at Harlesden Gardens London at the time of their marriage in 1940. If there is anyone out there with any sort of information i would be most grateful. thank you lesley |
