My grandmother, Evelyn Maud Watson was born on 24/05/1900 we believe in or around Swindon. She had two older sisters, May and Peggy. They moved to Aldeburgh in Suffolk where grandpa Watson was a master builder and very involved in the building of the boat sheds at Thorpeness. May married William Andrews who was a Police Inspector around the Luton, Beds. area. They had two children, Peter and Bernard. After Bill retired they emigrated to Brisbane, Australia, the last address we have is Adams Street. Peter and his wife Joyce went with them, but Bernard, married to Eileen stayed here in Biggleswade. Peggy married Thomas Dickson and lived in Leeds. My grandmother married Albert Thomas Crane and had three children, Thomas, Doris and Constance (my mother). They lived in Aldeburgh at first but then lived in several different places in Suffolk ending up in Ipswich. Grandpa Watson remarried and had two more daughters, Ena and another Peggy. We believe they then lived around the Clacton area. I'm really struggling to come up with any information on this family and would be very grateful for any help, particularly on the Australian connection. Thank you. |
