Hello Sharon
Alice Wiffen was the wife of William Tindall Wiffen who was born in Scarborough in 1913 but killed in the Arras Offensive in WW1. Alice went to live in Holbeach after his death. He had brothers, Frank, Edwin, Thomas and John who all lived in Scarborough.
Best wishes, Maggie

Very old thread to which neither the poster nor the first respondent ever returned

Neither of them is a member now, so you have no way of making contact

BTW. William Tindall Wiffen was born in 1886 and married in 1910.

He couldn’t have been born in 1913 and KIA in WW1 ;-) ;-)

Hi, for further information, there is a modern day Coventry branch - I used to go to school with two of them, Ben and Sam. I have mutual friends with them, they were slightly older than me and were born in the early 80's. I may be wrong but it would seem that most Wiffens go back to Essex, the further back you go?
