Still looking for information on David Anthony Williams born in 1948. Originally from Wales but served in the army in his 20's and was based in London. His parents were from Pen-Y-Groes (or something like that!) and his dad was called Thomas. He had a female relative-possibly his mother- called Elsie Gertrude Williams. I hope someone can help!

you could try in "Search Trees" at the top of this page but Williams in Wales is a hard one to trace - I know, I'm in Wales and my paternal line is Williams!!!

I tried that and ended up with a huge list! Sent loads of e-mails but not had many replies. I think 'Williams' in Wales is as common as 'Smith' or 'Jones' in England! I'll keep trying though. Thanks for your reply!

There are two largeish villages called Penygroes in Wales - and some smaller ones. I think the name Williams is marginally more common in north Wales (was he in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers?) and so you might try enquiring via the Nantlle Valley website:http://www.nantlle.com/index.htm. There should be plenty of people there who went to school with him.
