I have been searching for my grandfther James Williams for over a year now but have not been able to locate him.
I have now discsovered that he was in a navy orphanage but don't know where. Does anybody know if there is a list of these establishments? He was born c1896.
I know his father was called Thomas who was a sawyer and he also had an older brother called Thomas as well. He married my grandmother who came from Bethnal Green. They were quite young so the orphanage could have been in that area perhaps? Can anybody help?
Regards Lesley
